Are surveys a good way to get freebies stuff?

Nowadays it's so easy to find freebies stuff on the Web. Just type in the word freebies and you will see millions of websites offering freebies stuff for various kind of products or services. But does it actually work? Is it really free? Surprisingly, the answer is yes and no.

First of all let's examine why the merchant is offering freebies stuff in the first place. Big companies usually have a budget to do what they call market research. They collect data from the market using techniques of media such as survey. For example, a company wants to know how popular a given product is among its competitors then they will launch a market survey asking the customer whether they like product A or B? And they usually offer a reward for participating in that survey.

But what's the catch? Well, sometimes it's not as simple as filling out a survey form and walking away with the reward, for example. You enter a survey about a beverage drink, they want you to vote which one is your favorite beverage between product A and B, and upon completion you will receive a free gift card. But the fact is that after survey completion, you have to participate in their reward program which requires you to buy certain offers to receive the reward prize, eg. the free gift card.

You will find these type of freebies stuff offers many times on the web; free gift card offers, free trial offers and so on. But don't take it the wrong way because this business model is not always a bad thing because you will spend less than what you will receive. For example, in order to claim your $500 gift card you need to complete 5 offers at 2 Dollars each, it means that you will spend 10 Dollars to receive $500, that's not a bad deal, right?

But be very careful when participating in a survey or an offer, read all the terms and conditions carefully. A free trial offer may have a certain period of days before they charge you with the product's price. If you're okay with the terms, then you can participate with confidence. Remember that a survey is not the only way to get freebies stuff online.
